Shaping of an Apostle - June Newman Davies
I love to read Christian autobiographies, and this is definitely one of the best I have ever read! From chapter one, I was hooked. Having only known Jean Davis-Newman as the author of Scripture Keys and the Scripture Keys Power Manual, I thought she was some kind of super-spiritual Christian with whom I could not connect. But in reading her testimony, I realised that she was an ordinary person who overcame many tragedies (some of which I could relate to), but what set her apart was her submission to God and her wholehearted commitment to doing God's will. From this foundation, God used her in miraculous ways.
This book is not just for those called to the five-fold ministry, as the title may suggest. June herself was called as an apostle, but I am not called to the five-fold ministry, and I have definitely benefited from reading her story, for it has greatly inspired me in my own walk of faith. The central message I gained is that God is not a respecter of His children - what He did in and through June, He will do in and through any of us who is willing to submit and commit as June did. I 100% recommend The Shaping of an Apostle.
